About Artist Fran Gould

I've been painting for nine years now. I have taken part-time art classes with various tutors in the Nelson area, as well as two courses at summer school in the U.K.

I've decided to take my art more seriously, and have now finished two years full time study. At the beginning of 2010 I received the honour of being asked by the Qualifications Authority if they could use my folio. It travelled New Zealand to Museums, Galleries and Schools being one of the top students for 2009.

I have recently learned that I have been awarded a Scholarship to study at "The Learning Connexion" Wellington for this year.

I have sold many of my paintings and drawings over the years, and my work is scattered around the globe. I have also completed commissions on various subjects. My main area of interest is figurative painting, but I also enjoy the character of animals and birds.
